^{Extended Care operates on a drop-in basis for the convenience of parents and to provide a safe place for students when parents are delayed to pick up from afterschool activities. SJA requires that an Extended Care Enrollment form be kept on file for all students. Please keep your information current.}

^{SCHOOL DISMISSAL is from 3:05-3:15PM. At 3:15 teachers will escort remaining students (grades 1-8) to the gym to be checked in to EC. Preschoolers and kindergarteners will go to the preschool room to be checked-in. There is an automatic $1.00 minimum fee, per child.}

^{Our hourly rate is $4.00/hour per child with a $1.00 minimum fee. The fee chart is arranged in five minute increments. It is of the greatest importance that students are signed-out in our notebook before leaving our care! To sign out your student: find their timesheet in our notebook, which is arranged alphabetically by last name; round up the time to the nearest five-minute increment and sign your name.}

^{We will only release your child to those authorized by you according to the student’s enrollment form. Identification may be requested. Please send a note, call school office (503-742-8230) or call Director Lisa Hanson (503-413-9278) to authorize special arrangements.}

^{Extended Care closes at 6:00PM. The late fee is $1.00 per minute, per child. Student timesheets end on the 20th of the month. Billing is sent out at the end of the month through the church office. For billing inquiries contact SJA Bookkeeper Victoria Rothenberger (503-742-8203).}

^{The Extended Care Program operates after school on regular school days from 3:15PM-6:00PM. Child care is available on 11:30AM early dismissal days from 11:30AM-6:00PM. Students will need to bring a sack lunch. The program does NOT operate on school holidays, snow days and emergency closures. St. John the Apostle Catholic School will follow the Oregon City School District closures and delayed openings. In the event of early closure, Extended Care will NOT be available.}

What every SJA student wants to know about Extended Care

EC starts with free play in the gym, followed by snack and then homework. Homework is mandatory unless a parent has communicated otherwise with our staff. We will be happy to assist students. We want to support parents by encouraging students to do their homework while in EC. This will enable them to go home and focus on family time and other activities.

We have 3 closets full of fun things to do…games, crafts, toys and more.

If the weather is nice, we may go out to the playground.

The Extended Care staff gives students “golden tickets” to acknowledge positive behavior. Every day before snack we have a ticket drawing for a choice from our treasure box, a “fast pass” to the front of the snack line and a guess at the monthly candy count container. At the end of the month the closest guess wins the container!

NOTE :  There are occasions when the Parish Center is in use and Extended Care is relocated to the school Library. You may need to enter at the main entrance. If the office is closed you will need to call the Library so we can let you in.
